With modern long-range private jets, travel to almost any part of the world without stopping for fuel is possible.

5 Dassault Falcon 900LX

The Dassault Falcon 900LX is a lightweight, long-range trijet designed and developed by French-based Dassault Aviation. Dassault’s capable aircraft was announced in 1984 and entered service in September 1986. With a seating capacity of up to 19 passengers, the type has an operational range of approximately 4,750 NM (8,800 km).

The Falcon 900LX is powered by three AlliedSignal TFE731 turbofan engines, each capable of generating 4,750 lbf (21.3 kN) thrust. Dassault Aviation has produced more than 500 examples of the trijet across all variants. It remains one of the few business jets with three engines, including one in front of the vertical tailplane.

Bombardier’s Global Express is a long-range business jet designed and developed by Bombardier Aerospace of Canada. The type performed its first flight in October 1996 and entered service in July 1999. With a seating capacity of up to 17 passengers, the aircraft has an operational range of approximately 6,600 NM (12,225 km).

The Global Express is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR700 turbofan engines, each capable of generating 15,125 lbf (67.3 kN) thrust. The manufacturer has produced multiple aircraft variants, with the Global 6500 having the most incredible range. Bombardier has built and delivered over 800 examples of the Global Express jet across all variants.

3 Gulfstream G700

Gulfstream’s G700 is an ultra-long-range business jet designed and developed by Gulfstream Aerospace. The aircraft is part of the Gulfstream G650 family, which first flew in 2009. The manufacturer introduced the G700 version during the NBAA Convention in October 2019. The aircraft performed its first flight in February 2020.

With a seating capacity of up to 19 passengers, the aircraft has an operational range of approximately 7,750 NM (14,350 km). The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR700 turbofan engines, each capable of generating 18,250 lbf (81.2 kN) thrust. According to Aviation Week, the manufacturer has yet to receive the FAA certification – a result of the pandemic downturn and various delays. However, Gulfstream should begin delivering the long-awaited aircraft this year.

Part of the Bombardier Global family jets, the Bombardier Global 8000 is an ultra-long-range business jet designed and developed by Bombardier Aerospace of Canada. The capable aircraft performed its maiden flight in May 2023 and is expected to enter service in 2025. With a seating capacity of up to 19 passengers, the type features an operational range of over 8,000 NM (14,800 km).

The type is designed to accommodate 25 passengers in a typical private configuration; however, given the real estate offered, passenger capacity can be adjusted based on customer demand.
