BHPian Sheeban recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
After months of research, shortlists changing every weekend, and countless test drives, I finally took delivery of the Kia Seltos GTX (A) IVT .
The Delivery Experience
The car arrived clean and undamaged. I did a quick delivery inspection, and the car was in the same condition as during the PDI a few days earlier. The delivery process was smooth, with the usual formalities—documentation, photo ops, and a basic walkthrough of the vehicle.
What I Really Like:
- Stunning road presence; looks far better in the flesh and stands out in traffic.
- IVT is a bliss in Bengaluru stop‑go traffic—smooth and easy to live with.
- NVH is well controlled; the cabin stays quiet unless pushed hard.
- 360° camera, parking sensors, and ADAS make tight‑space and city driving much easier (shame Kia reserves this for top variants only).
- Infotainment is responsive, lag‑free, with a simple and intuitive UI.
- IMO, audio quality is more than adequate for daily use.
- Driver‑seat welcome retraction is fancy but genuinely helpful for ingress/egress.
- Auto‑reverse ORVMs, Ventilated front seats, and dual‑zone climate control are nice, practical touches.
What I Dislike:
- Missing features: no electric tailgate, illuminated glovebox, one‑touch up/down for all windows, driver‑side vanity mirror, illumination/cover for passenger vanity mirror.
- No rear ventilated and sliding seats like in the Syros
- No adjustable armrest; it is not very useful for shorter drivers.
- The NA engine gets quite loud under hard acceleration.
- Power delivery is linear, tuned for relaxed cruising rather than hard acceleration, so overtakes have to be timed properly.
- With the Centre armrest, the back seat is better for 2 adults and a kid, rather than 3 adults. City rides can be managed with 3 adults.
Overall, coming from a 14‑year‑old Ritz, the upgrade in interior quality, plushness, drive dynamics, and overall refinement makes this feel like a proper generational leap.
Accessories Fitted from KIA
Yay:
- Dual‑layer cabin mats – good quality and fit.
- Trunk sill guard
- Door edge guards (black) – blend in nicely with the Magma Red.
- Car duster cleaner
- 3D boot mat
- Car cover
- Perfume
Nay:
- Number plate bracket
- Premium cushion set (2 pieces)
- Tissue box
- 3M rust‑protection package – longevity is unclear, and the workmanship could have been better.
Add-on:
- Initial ride felt a bit firm; realised the showroom had filled tyres to 45 PSI.
- Drained the air and refilled with nitrogen at 35 PSI; ride became noticeably more comfortable and compliant.
- Tyre‑pressure sensor seems slightly off: 35 PSI of nitrogen shows as 36–37 PSI on the display—unsure if this is normal calibration behaviour.
