On the day, the expert team will provide valuations on antique and contemporary jewellery and watches ahead of a Jewellery & Watches sale on 30th June. This auction will follow record-breaking results achieved at specialist sales held in January and April.

The team will also value collectable and household gold and silver items, including coins and tableware.

“With silver and gold prices still at historic highs, many people are choosing to sell.  When weighing up options, auction can offer a clear advantage as items are exposed to a global online network of discerning buyers who are often willing to pay significantly more than the scrap value that might be offered elsewhere,” says Gildings director Will Gilding.

Standout results this spring include:

· An antique emerald and gold brooch, estimated at £1,000–£1,500, sold for £4,600

· A gentleman’s Cartier Santos stainless steel and white metal automatic wristwatch sold in line with its guide price of £2,500

· An 18ct gold charm bracelet with 28 charms, estimated at £1,500–£2,000, sold for £2,600

· A three-piece silver tea set, estimated at £1,400, sold for £1,700

“When valuing items, our specialists take quality, condition and past prices for similar lots into account alongside current market conditions,” adds Will. “The valuation days we’ve held so far this year have proved incredibly popular and resulted in fantastic outcomes for our vendors in line with and sometimes exceeding guide prices. So, we’re looking forward to welcoming another great turnout on Friday, as people continue to take advantage of current demand.”

The valuation event will take place from 9am – 4pm on Friday, 5th June, at Gildings Auctioneers, The Mill, Great Bowden Road, Market Harborough, LE16 7DE.
