I tried the £45 Mother’s Day Beauty Box from Boots and it’s the best value one yet

Mums have busy lives and often forget to take time out for themselves, or even undertake some daily self-care. So when picking a treat up for your mum this Mother’s Day, or even for yourself, because let’s face it, you deserve it, a beauty or skincare box may be the way forward.

And there’s plenty of beauty boxes that have been launched in last few weeks ready for Sunday, March 10. It includes the likes of Next, Boots, LookFantastic and Marks & Spencer – all packed full with products from a range of brand to give you that much-needed boost.

I’ve been a huge fan of beauty boxes since I tried a range of beauty advent calendars last Christmas. They offer you the chance to try out products you wouldn’t normally buy, or finally test that product you’ve really wanted to do before splashing out on buying it full-size.

But there’s one that was recently released for Mother’s Day that has really caught my eye – and I couldn’t wait to delve inside. The Boots limited edition We Appreciate You Beauty Box costs just £45 and is available on Boots’ website now.

And for me it has some amazing products inside but also great value for money at an affordable price. The Boots We Appreciate You Beauty Box costs just £45 but the contents is worth more than £250. Meaning you’ve already saved more than £200 on the contents.

Boots say it is a ‘luxurious treat for celebrating mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, guardians or friends who are expecting‘. It features a selection of 18 premium skincare, haircare, body care and make up products – including eight full-size products from top brands. And even the smaller sample products are a decent size.

Top brands include Liz Earle, Rituals, No7, Sol De Janeiro and more. Products include the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm which retails for around £45 full size elsewhere – the same price as the box as a whole. While the Liz Earle Superskin Microdermabrasion Polish is normally £32 full size which you get in the box. Perfect!

While there’s a huge focus on skincare, there are also some really good make-up products. And what’s even better they are universally flattering shades too. The No7 HydraLuminous Lip Balm (normally £9.95) comes in nude and the No7 Stay Perfect Ultra Mascara (normally £14.95) comes in brown. I also love the Laura Mercier Translucent Pure Setting Spray – normally £36! It keeps your make-up in place for hours and it’s been on my to-buy list for a while.

There’s haircare bits too – including the hugely popular Bumble & Bumble Bond-Building Repair Styling Cream, as well as a shampoo and conditioner duo from ARKIVE. This box really ticks all boxes.

Some of my favourites inside are the previously mentioned Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. I’ve been dying to try this since I heard it is one of the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton’s favourite products. It’s a cult beauty favourite.

I’ve recently become hooked on the Sol De Janeiro Bum Bum Cream so was was delighted to find a mini Sol De Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream inside the beauty box. It claims to leave skin ‘visibly plump, deeply replenished and velvety-soft’ which is much-needed at this time of year. Plus they smell divine!

And now I know why Rabanne’s Lady Million Eau De Parfum gets so many rave reviews. The floral scent has amber, bitter orange and jasmine notes. It’s simply lovely – and this mini is perfect for throwing in my handbag for top-ups throughout the day.

I love the We Appreciate You Beauty Box – there are so many different products inside and something for every mum inside. There’s some much-loved premium brands featured inside – and it gives you, or your mum, the chance to dabble with some products you may have not wanted to treat yourself to before trying out. It’s a lovely and thoughtful present for Mother’s Day.
