Lots of excellent racing to be had on Saturday July 27, and we’re rather spoiled for choice. The ITV piece covers the standouts at Ascot and York, so for our Lucky 15 Tips let’s pop across the Irish Sea and take in the flat meet at Gowran Park.

There’s plenty of runners, brilliant extra place races, so it’s high time we fashioned an each-way L15 – and this card lends itself beautifully to that in my book. An eight-race programme kicks in at 13:42.

Horse Racing Odds

Today’s Horse Races

14:17 – Shaaden @ 16/1

Five places each-way. Patrick Flynn trains, and Seamie Heffernan is in the plate.

Shaaden is a four-year-old Invincible Spirit filly who looks to be getting close to winning one of these. Not beaten far despite a troubled passage, claimer-ridden, 40 days ago at this very track.

The vastly-experienced Seamie is now engaged, and he’s ridden this ex-Marcus Tregoning conveyance once previously. Decent e/w chance.

14:52 – Baalbec Beauty @ 17/2

Five places each-way. The excellent Ben Coen, associated with so many of Johnny Murtagh’s runners, takes the mount. Miss Hilary McLoughlin trains.

Baalbec Beauty was beaten less than 2l in one of these here last month, and bids to take this second division of the previous contest. Coen was on board then too, and previous riding engagements have included the likes of Billy Lee and Declan McDonogh.

The six-year-old mare frustratingly remains a maiden but goes well here and has chances on that basis alone.

16:30 – Next Trick @ 8/1

Four places each-way. A three-year-old Bated Breath filly trained by the great Dermot Weld.

Next Trick has been running highly respectably in maidens and now tries her luck in a handicap. Chris Hayes is on board and I think she’ll appreciate this advertised good ground.

It’s not the hottest of contests and we might nick a place.

17:05 – Jeaniemacoroney @ 3/1

Five places each-way. We reach out to a Joseph O’Brien-trained, JP McManus-owned four-year-old Highland Reel filly.

Jeaniemacoroney is a dual-purpose double-threat, flat and jumps, and won over hurdles at Roscommon 19 days ago. She’s in decent order at least, and her connections are impeccable.

She’s been very consistent on the flat without quite troubling the judge, and this could well be her day in the sun.

If you’re playing take care, and as always, have fun.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!

The odds can fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.25p each-way Lucky 15 on today’s selections, at the prices, and assuming all four won, would return around £2,400 for your total £7.50 stake.
