This year, we’re once again spotlighting the best products money can buy across skin care, body care, hair care, makeup, nail care, and fragrance. Winners were chosen by our editors and a curated panel of experts, including dermatologists, aestheticians, makeup artists, hairstylists, and nail artists.
The Judging Process
Between InStyle editors and our esteemed panel of guest judges, we’ve tried and tested thousands of products over the past year. For this year’s Best Beauty Buys, we curated a list of 160 winners—both new launches and tried-and-true favorites—that we consider the crème de la crème. While selecting honorees, we thoroughly assessed product formulations, performance, shade ranges, short- and long-term results, and other important elements of purchase, like price and packaging. Another important facet of the process? How these products make us feel because, at InStyle, beauty is more than skin deep.

Naeha Gupta, D.O.

Nam Vo

Vernon François
Vernon François is a British-born, Los Angeles–based hairstylist, educator, and founder of the inclusive Vernon François hair-care brand. Known for his expertise with all hair textures, he has styled iconic stars such as Lupita Nyong’o, Serena Williams, and Solange Knowles.
Matt Rez
Matt Rez is a Los Angeles-based celebrity hair colorist and InStyle Imagemaker honoree with more than 20 years of experience. His clients include Hailey Bieber, Florence Pugh, and Chrissy Teigen.
Betina Goldstein
Betina Goldstein is a Los Angeles-based nail artist known for her editorial, campaign, and celebrity work. Her roster includes Margot Robbie, Julia Garner, and Zoë Kravitz.
Queenie Nguyen
