OMICRON has announced the release of High-current injection accessories for the CMC 500.
The CMC 500 is designed for more than secondary protection testing. By paralleling its current outputs, a single-phase high-current output of up to 450 A can be achieved for primary injections.
Purpose-built for the CMC 500, the new High-current injection accessories fully match the test set’s output capabilities. They correspond even to the maximum performance of the CMC 500 UHH variant and are rated for 450 A (2 s on / 10 s off), ensuring safe and reliable operation under realistic high-current conditions.
Straightforward paralleling of the required outputs makes on-site setup simple and efficient. Robust screw clamps ensure secure connections to primary conductors, providing stable electrical contact. They support connections to flat and round conductors, as well as ball points and T-pins.
For flexible and practical use in the field, the set includes 6m high-current cables. Carabiners serve as a strain-relief mechanism, enabling secure mounting and keeping the cables properly supported during testing.

In addition to protection relay testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting, the CMC 500 can be used for primary equipment verification. With the High current injection accessories, it is suitable for commissioning new installations, routine protection system checks, troubleshooting signal-path issues, and validating CT wiring and relay interaction.
