Police are searching for two suspects accused of stealing jewelry from a woman in her 70s on Wednesday.
The theft occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the 3300 block of Alma Street, according to police.
The victim reported that a beige-colored vehicle carrying a man and a woman stopped near her as she walked along the street.
Investigators said the female suspect approached the victim and placed a necklace around her neck. During the interaction, the suspect allegedly removed the victim’s necklace.
The victim noticed the theft and briefly struggled with the woman before recovering part of the jewelry. However, police said the suspect took the pendant before returning to the vehicle and fleeing north on Alma Street. She reported the incident to the police the following morning.
The victim was not injured and did not report seeing a weapon, police said.
Police described the female suspect as a White woman with blonde hair who spoke an unidentified language. The second suspect was described as an adult man who drove the vehicle.
Detectives are investigating whether the incident is connected to similar thefts reported in other communities.
