A Grand Theft Auto 4 fan online got a great surprise recently, after discovering a cool piece of merch hidden in a random trash pile. While gamers are still finding new details in Grand Theft Auto 4 itself, it’s much rarer to find these interesting out-of-game discoveries, especially as the game ages.
With Grand Theft Auto 4 now over 15 years old, it’s easy to forget just how groundbreaking it was at the time of its release. Powered by RAGE and the Euphoria physics system, the game brought Grand Theft Auto into the next generation with a monumental leap forward in technology. There were some complaints, mainly about the darker tone and heavier driving physics, but all in all, it was a phenomenal achievement. The cool discovery was posted to Reddit, showing off an “N1KO” car plate found in a random pile of trash, referencing Grand Theft Auto 4 protagonist Niko Bellic. The plate features the silhouette of Liberty City, as well as both the Rockstar and GTA 4 logos. There’s even a funny quote at the bottom, reading “Worst Place in America.” Considering it is almost certainly as old as the game itself, it’s in remarkably good condition, with only minor scuffs located around small areas of the plate.
