Police footage shows the chase and crash
This is the moment a “reckless” Sheffield driver rammed two police cars while trying to escape officers in a high-speed chase.
Kai Haddington, aged 31, was seen veering over the central line, speeding through multiple red lights and junctions and driving the wrong way down one-way streets in his VW Caddy van in an incident on April 25, 2026.
He led officers on a 35-minute pursuit, which began after he ran a red light on Penistone Road.
South Yorkshire Police has now released footage of Haddington’s arrest, including officers’ commentary as they gave chase and the moment the 27-year-old wedged his van between two police vehicles.
Haddington, who was jailed for 14 months and handed a three-year driving ban, cried “sorry” and “it’s my fault” as he was being arrested by officers.
