TECH addicts are returning Apple’s latest gadget – and it’s not because of motion sickness.   

The firm released the new device last year and sent fans into a frenzy trying to get their hands on the futuristic headset.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo discovered some owners of the new Vision Pro have returned the device because they can’t work out how to use it.

The gadget is advertised as a spatial computing device that blends both the physical and digital world in a “seamless” way.

However, a minority of users have said some of its features are not easy to find – which is causing them to send it back, reports Gizmodo.

In a translated analyst note, Ming-Chi Kuo, said: “It is noteworthy that about 20–30 percent of users who return their products do so because they do not know how to set up the Vision Pro.”

The futuristic piece of headgear uses eye-tracking technology to control a cursor in Apple’s new spatial computing arena.

The tracking-tech was designed to be more intuitive than an old-fashioned digital mouse – but has limitations which fans are trying to get used to.

One of the issues users are contending with, is when they want to access their apps they have to press a physical button to leave the spatial experience.

And, to open the well-known control centre they have to look up towards the ceiling and find a small arrow.

Lastly – and perhaps the most pain-staking – is in some cases users have to visit one of the firm’s many branches to reset a forgotten password.

The device is rumoured to be released this year in the UK, but costs £2,765 ($3,500) overseas – which is a price that some believe is too much when noticing the teething issues.

Kuo noted that demand for the device is slowing – as shipping times for it have sped up from upto five days, instead of over a month when they became available.

But even with that being said, Apple expects to sell more units than they forecasted, and Kuo said fans will have to wait until around 2027 until a cheaper version of the game-changing device is announced. 

SELLING LIKE HOTCAKES

Although some issues are being mooted by new owners – and only in small numbers – Apple has shifted around 200,000 units.

The impressive figure shows that die-hard fans are pocketing the device as quickly as the company can stock them.

The firm is also going all-in on apps made specifically for the device – after dropping over 600 new ones which will take advantage of the device’s extra space as its not limited to a traditional screen.
