Borders Pet Rescue is looking for a new home for seven-year-old Bane.
A spokesperson for Borders Pet Rescue said: “Once Bane knows you, he is very affectionate, follows you around to keep you company and will even bring his little toy over to you to play with.
“Bane is a sensitive and nervous boy who was found as a stray.
“It’s likely he hasn’t had many positive experiences with people, so he sometimes feels safest observing from a distance, often preferring the quiet of the night to explore when everything is calm and still.
“He is a clean and well-mannered cat who is fully litter trained. With patience, understanding, and a gentle approach.
“Bane has the potential to slowly build trust and form a meaningful bond.
“Given time, we believe he will grow in confidence and begin to show his true self.”
