Police have warned a resident after their dog chased sheep around a field in Oxfordshire.

The incident took place in a field near Bicester on Tuesday evening (February 20), but no sheep were injured during the occurrence.

A community order was issued by Thames Valley Police to resolve the situation with the dog owner being fully compliant with the acting police officer.

A spokesperson for the force said: “PC Uren has issued a Community Resolution this evening to the owner of a dog that chased sheep in a field near Bicester.

“On this occasion, no sheep were injured. The owner was apologetic and has been given advice. Community Resolutions stay on our systems in case of further incidents.

“Please report any incidents of Dogs Worrying Livestock via 101 Online or 999 if in progress or an emergency.”
