If there’s anything more adorable than kittens, I don’t know about it. It doesn’t matter their breed, hair length, eye color, or life goals—every little purr baby is perfect. And when two kittens from the same litter are actual identical twins, the cuteness factor only goes up from there!
This is exactly what happened when mama cat Nyla gave birth to six little ones. Though each Tabby cat in the crew is special in their own way, it’s the dynamic duo that has everyone seeing double.
As foster mom @ncatcollective_ explained, the only way to tell these two cuties apart is to “see which one is the girl or boy.” Both babies have the typical Tabby cat fur pattern and the same electric blue eyes. One user pointed out there’s a slight difference in their noses to help Mom out, but it takes an eagle eye!
Fans of the kittens got right to work giving them their nicknames, and they’re all A+! Seriously, if I had a litter of tiny kittens to name, I’d go straight to the comments.
One person deemed them “Thingamajig and Thingamabob.” Another had a similar thought, adding, “Thing 1 and Thing 2.” But my personal favorite is “Badda bing and Badda boom,” because they give off that energy.

As part of the twins’ lore, Mom also noted that when she found their cat mom, Nyla, she had no idea the kitty was pregnant. A few months later, it was quite the surprise when Nyla gave birth to six!

How Common Are Identical Twin Kittens?
Having twins begins in the embryo when one fertilized egg splits into two separate embryos. Only a vet can determine whether Nyla’s twins are actual twins, but the likelihood of this happening is extremely rare in cats. Less than 1 to 2% of all feline births result in identical twins, while the rest of the babies are probably fraternal twins or standard littermates.
Twins or not, those two babies are purrfect!
