JACKSON, MI — The Jackson County Animal Shelter, 3770 Spring Arbor Road, has many pets available for adoption.
Here are two of them.
Tater is appropriately named since he is a big 4-month-old couch potato. He is a whopping 50 pounds and expect him to be a pretty big boy.
He is the most calm and laid back puppy we have ever met and he is at the perfect age to adapt to your home life and family. You don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to call him yours.
Miss Puddles is a shy kitty brought in as one of 13 from the same home. They are all a beautiful Russian Blue.
It has been a very frightening experience for her and her friends since they haven’t had much interaction with new people. We are hoping someone with a low-key, quiet home will allow her to decompress, taking the time she needs to build confidence and allow herself to be loved by a new person.
Miss Puddles is about 2-years-old and a petite 7 pounds. We are offering an Adopt One-Get One adoption special for any pair of cats from Miss Puddles family group.
Dog adoptions require an application, online. A meet-and-greet with a dog also is mandatory. A cat room walk-through is available to test reaction. The dog adoption fee is $150 for medium and large dogs and $250 for puppies and small dogs, which includes vaccinations, microchip and sterilization.
Cat adoption fees are $60 for one cat, $80 for two, which includes applicable tests, vaccinations and spay/neutering.
Visiting the shelter is always best, but other adoption resources include online applications at https://www.co.jackson.mi.us/2302/Our-Adoptable-Animals, faxing 517-780-4750 or emailing animalshelter@mijackson.org.
