Despite stepping away from their official royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear determined to maintain their lavish lifestyle.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly been spotted using a private Cessna jet valued at $7.4 million, capable of reaching speeds of 592mph, drawing considerable attention to their travel choices and environmental impact.
The aircraft is said to feature opulent interiors and custom seating accommodating up to 12 passengers, affording Harry and Meghan both comfort and privacy. It comes as Prince Harry could reunite with King – but only if certain rules are followed.
Among its reported amenities are LED lighting with a dimmer switch, onboard Wi-Fi, dedicated workspaces for Meghan to develop her As Ever business ventures, and spacious bathrooms suitable for wardrobe changes. Despite stepping back from full-time royal engagements, the couple clearly remains committed to a lifestyle defined by convenience, speed and exclusivity.
As seen in their 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, the aircraft is also roomy enough to accommodate the couple’s beloved dogs and even their pet beds. Footage from the film showed Harry, Meghan and her mother, Doria Ragland, relaxing comfortably in private booths.

It was previously reported that the Sussexes opted for private jet travel when attending the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in London in 2022 – marking the first transatlantic journey to the UK for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to Liberty Jet, the private jet used by Harry and Meghan currently retails for approximately $7.4 million, not including pilot costs. It remains unclear whether the couple has purchased the aircraft outright or is chartering it for their transatlantic trips.

However, their globe-trotting lifestyle comes with significant scrutiny. Critics have pointed out that private jets are among the most carbon-intensive modes of transportation, drawing attention to an apparent contradiction between the couple’s vocal environmental advocacy and their personal travel habits, reports the Express.
In 2019, Harry founded Travalyst, a non-profit organization bringing together major travel and tech companies – including Google and Skyscanner – to develop standardized sustainability and carbon-emissions calculators.
The initiative aims to provide consumers with transparent data to help them make more environmentally responsible travel decisions. Additionally, through his charitable foundation Archewell, Harry pledged to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Prince Harry has defended his travel choices by citing his family’s security requirements.
That said, the Sussexes have also been known to fly commercial with British Airways. During a brief stopover in London on their return from Nigeria in 2024, the couple was reported to have traveled in the First Class cabin aboard a Boeing 777.
