This year’s British Business and General Aviation (BBGA) Association’s AGM (which took place in London on 7 March) saw a new provider of private air charter services, OPUL Jets, formally launch its operations in London, the isle of Man and the UAE.
With its current fleet comprising a Bombardier Global XLS and two Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45 business jets, OPUL Jets will base the two Learjets at London Biggin hill Airport, just outside the UK capital, and Ronaldsway Airport on the Isle of Man. Additional G-registered aircraft will join the two jets later this year. Meanwhile, the Global Express on the Malteste registry, will be positioned out of Biggin Hill and Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai. Underpinning the potential for growth in the business aviation market in the UAE, OPUL Jets plans further acquisitions and expansion into the Middle East and Asia in due course. It’s aircraft are are also type-rated for London City Airport, positioning the company to meet the anticipated demand and provide business travellers with access to the heart of the UK capital.
The business is also committed to sustainability, launching with its own proprietary carbon calculator, developed in partnership with enfiniti. This will enable passengers to calculate and offset their carbon footprint for each flight. Where available, customers will also be encouraged to refuel with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), while flight crew will wear certified recycled apparel.
Founded in 2023, OPUL Jets has offices and operations in London, the Isle of Man, Dubai and India. OPUL Jets is a new member of the BBGA and an approved charter company under the UAE CAA and has also applied to join the Air Charter Association.”
