A couple from Lancashire have been revealed as the lucky winners of a £61 million EuroMillions jackpot, which they discovered while celebrating their wedding anniversary.
Richard and Debbie Nuttall, both 54, were on holiday in the Canary Islands when they realised they had one of the two winning tickets.
They described frantically driving around to find mobile signal to confirm their win.
The moment they found out they were £61 million richer was unbelievable, with Mr Nuttall saying: “We just couldn’t make sense of it.
“My first thought was it must be a scam or there was some mix up.”
After finally confirming their win with the National Lottery, the reality began to sink in.
The couple celebrated in their car, jumping up and down in their seats and punching the air.
The total prize for the January 30 draw was £123,416,462, shared between two ticket-holders, one in the UK and the other in Spain.
