Longford’s Jade Hoare is celebrating on the double this week!
She captured the title of Ireland’s Strongest Woman in the U82kg category in Galway last weekend.
And later this week, Jade and her fiancé Jack Harkin will tie the knot at their wedding ceremony.
Jack is also an accomplished Strongman competitor and in 2021 he was the Republic of Ireland’s Strongest Man before finishing fifth in the All-Ireland Strongest Man Final for the Finn McCool Trophy that same year.
This latest success was Jade’s third consecutive year to be triumphant, having also claimed the U82kg category title in 2022 and 2023.
The event in the Black Box Theatre in Galway on Easter Saturday, March 30.
Jade won four out of the five events on the day which were a 180kg silver dollar deadlift; 60kg log press into 60kg axle press for reps where she did 7; 180kg yoke run into a 70kg sandbag run; 170kg frame carry for 20m and a max weight stone event where she lifted 110kg with ease to secure her win.
Jade has now qualified for Europe’s Strongest Woman in August in England & the Worlds Strongest Woman in December in America.
Throw in the little matter of her wedding this week, and 2024 is certainly going to be a memorable year for Jade and Jack. Best wishes to them both.
