An incredible eastern suburbs pad that was once home to Sydney‘s ‘event planner to the stars’ is set to go under the hammer.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Edgecliff is the deceased estate of Philip Carr, who organised weddings for PR guru Roxy Jacenko and socialite Jessica Ingham.
Built to impressive scale, the stylish home has been listed with an eye-watering price guide of $4.1million.
The Wentworth Courier reports that the beautifully designed apartment still features art work and furniture owned by the South African-born Carr, who died aged 46 from cancer.
It is expected the items will be auctioned or passed on to family members.
Located in the prestigious Manning Gardens complex overlooking Sydney’s leafy eastern suburbs, the apartment features stunning water views of Double Bay and surrounds.
Known for its ‘Hollywood’ style glamour, the apartment, which Carr renovated himself 20 years ago, is described as being the ‘size of a house’ and features a marble kitchen and a ‘breakfast terrace’.
The classic layout offers a private dining room and a living room that opens out onto a spacious entertainment deck.
Meanwhile, two of the bedrooms boast built-in wardrobes, a private terrace and share a gorgeous en suite.
Currently, the third bedroom has been converted into a large home office.
Finishings include sisal flooring, and specially designed tiling.
Added features of the complex include a heated swimming pool and sculptured gardens.
Carr was well-known in Sydney’s celebrity circles as a prominent event planner and stylist.
Among his achievements was planning the wedding of Ingham Chicken’s heiress Jessica Ingham, who tied the knot with Alex Macris in 2013.
He was also the ‘wedding architect’ for the ceremony and reception for Roxy Jacenko when she tied the knot with Oliver Curtis at the swanky Quay Restaurant in 2012.
