The internet is flooded with videos wherein content creators demonstrate how to portion your plate. As a part of this portion control, while half of your plate must include vegetables, the rest of the items in a meal must be adjusted in the other half. This portion control is considered one of the amazing ways to kick-start your weight loss journey. Needless to say, the portion control goes for a toss if you are attending a wedding or an event. But a video, making rounds on the Internet, shows a great way of maintaining this portion at Indian weddings. The video was shared by an Instagram user Bhawnapreet Kaur Sahni, who as per the bio is Mrs. North India 2k19. In the clip, Bhawna can be seen standing at a buffet with a plate full of rice in her hand. Bhawna has created a big X with the help of rice, dividing her plate into equal halves.

Next, she poured a spoonful of dal on one half. She then added butter paneer, mushroom sabzi, and dry mixed vegetables to the plate. Sharing the video, she wrote, “How to manage your plate in functions.”

Earlier, celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar dropped a video explaining why a person should not indulge in portion control. In the video, Rujuta explained why portion control could get quite complicated for people who were on a diet. She said, “Portion control was invented by people who wanted us to be constantly conflicted and confused.” The nutritionist went on to explain that many factors affect our appetite and it would be difficult to regulate portion size every time. These factors include stress, exercise, the reason for eating, the time of the day, and the company we had. Along with the clip, she wrote, “Why you shouldn’t portion control -factors that affect our appetite, 3 easy things you can do to eat the right amount of food.”
