Kate Middleton took a center role during Anzac Day in the U.K., and she tapped her wedding dress designer to create a memorable look.

The Princess of Wales, 44, stepped out on April 25 in an ankle-length navy coat dress designed by Sarah Burton, creative director of Givenchy. The elegant coat featured structured shoulders and crisp, white lapels.

She paired the ensemble with a teardrop-shaped navy hat featuring a statement bow on the back by Jane Taylor Millinery in London, Gianvito Rossi navy suede pumps, and a navy handbag by London-based designer DeMellier, a favorite of Princess Kate. The royal’s jewelry turned heads during the event. She wore Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond drop earrings, a sentimental piece that Kate has worn multiple times. The iconic earrings paired perfectly with her tanzanite pendant necklace by G. Collins & Sons, thought to be a gift from her husband, Prince William.

Kate and Burton, 52, have been long-time collaborators, with the British designer famously designing her 2011 wedding dress. At the time, Burton was the creative director for Alexander McQueen, and in 2023, she moved into the same role with Givenchy. Burton is known for her exceptional craftsmanship, blending modern femininity with traditional elegance, and her discreet nature. The designer previously said she didn’t tell her own mother she was designing Kate’s wedding dress, and has been close to the royal fold ever since.

Kate and Princess Anne represented Buckingham Palace during the day of remembrance in London, marking an important solo outing after Kate and Prince William, 43, took several weeks off with their kids during Spring Break. Kate laid a wreath at The Cenotaph on Whitehall on behalf of King Charles III, which featured a handwritten message from her and Prince William. She then joined a congregation at Westminster Abbey for the annual Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving.

Anzac Day honors all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars. April 25 specifically marks the anniversary of Australian and New Zealand soldiers landing in Gallipoli, Turkey, in 1915.

2026 marks the third time Kate has attended Anzac Day in London, and she followed her usual wardrobe formula. In 2019, the Princess wore a structured teal-blue coat dress by Catherine Walker & Co. and a matching teal fascinator adorned with pheasant feathers by Rosie Olivia. Her date for the event was Prince Harry, as William was in New Zealand following the Christchurch mosque attacks and Meghan Marklewas on maternity leave after giving birth to her and Harry’s son, Prince Archie.

Kate attended Anzac Day in 2022 alongside Prince William in another fabulous coat and hat combo. She was a vision in an Alexander McQueen ivory coat dress and black pumps. The dress is one of her favorites, as she previously wore it during Princess Charlotte’s christening in July 2015 and Trooping the Colour in June 2016.
