Terry Peart, 75 from Bournemouth wanted to do something special for one of his four children on her wedding day.

Two years ago, Terry’s wife, Mary died of leukemia.

Mary was described as a ‘kind mother and daughter with a beautiful personality who knew how to rock pink hair.’

His daughter Rachel is getting married in Greece later this year, and Terry wanted to do something to remind her of her mother on her big day.

Terry visited Born to Tailor in Boscombe, a tailoring, alterations, and repairs service.

Director Nicolette had taken pieces of his late wife, Mary’s wedding dress, and transformed it into a bag for Rachel to wear at her wedding.

Terry said: “My wife passed away two and a half years ago, and we started to clear out her old things.

“At the bottom of one of the trunks was Mary’s wedding dress from 50 years ago.

“My daughter is getting married this year, so I just thought, maybe I’ll get something made.

“The bag was absolutely beautiful; Nicolette did a brilliant job.

“It took a long time to get over Mary’s passing, but my kids were brilliant, I wouldn’t have got through it without them.

“So, I wanted to do something special for Rachel’s wedding.”

Nicolette said: I am really lucky that sometimes there’s one customer that pops in with an idea and just keeps me going, as Terry did.

“I was really excited because I was looking to do something different.

“It surprises me how as a tailor I get so many chances of making people happy and being a tiny part of their life story.

“I hope Terry’s daughter has a wonderful wedding.”

Extra details were created to remind Rachel of her mother. Nicolette added: “We added a tiny pink heart to the bag and a print of Mary inside the bag with the quote ‘I will always be with you’.

“A wedding dress on the outside but mum on the inside.”
