Jewelry designer Brent Neale describes a nautilus shell as a “symbol of growth”—one that is able to “welcome inevitable chaos” of the ever changing tide despite its small size. It comes as no surprise, then, that her own rendition of the spiral skeleton—a trio of graduated shell charms, each a swirling confection of 18-karat yellow gold and diamonds suspended from a slender gold choker—is as delicate as it is a showstopper.
That necklace is the pièce de résistance of Neale’s new Tides collection, a lineup of seaside treasures that includes emerald cabochons sand-dollar rings, diamond and 18-karat-gold fish earrings, and pearls galore. Unveiled this week at her new Midtown New York studio (by appointment only), the summer capsule arrives just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
