“Instead of high fashion going out onto the street, I wanted the spirit of the street to enter the couture salon and give clothes a sense of freedom,” Pierpaolo Piccioli revealed to fashion critic Nicole Phelps on the occasion of the launch of the new Balenciaga Resort 2027 collection. And that is precisely the feel this fashion vision has. Dramatic silhouettes, volumes and textures, as well as luxurious fabrics, are interwoven with the functionality of street fashion, creating a dynamic contrast and giving the collection an always desirable touch of coolness.

This impression is reinforced by the creative styling, as well as the accessories, especially the jewelry, which Balenciaga presented in a very intriguing way in the Resort 2027 collection presentation. Although Piccioli, in his new fashion story, did not forget to highlight handbag classics such as the Rodeo and Le City models (which, incidentally, are worn casually unfastened), the main role among the accessories definitely belongs to jewelry styled in a way that is anything but shy. Gold dominates the jewelry, the earrings are massive and cover the entire ear (most often on just one side), and the necklaces are styled to look as if several of them have been tangled around the neck. In addition to being extremely striking and most often rounded off with oversized sunglasses, and as such having the power to “carry” an entire outfit, Piccioli also offered us new ways to style it. We are definitely leaving the idea of discretion aside, and we will quite certainly “borrow” the idea of wearing a bracelet on the upper arm, of course, over summer shirts. Just as we will the idea of combining massive gold necklaces with sportswear and streetwear pieces such as hoodies. Necklaces around a hood simply look great!
