A man was airlifted to safety after his catamaran sank off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii, according to the United States Coast Guard.
Footage shows the rescue, which the USCG said took place on Sunday, July 12, 23 miles off the coast of Kauai.
The vessel’s steering became inhibited during a journey from Oahu to Kauai, the coast guard said, and the boat began taking on water.
