With heatwaves across the globe, we’re looking for ways to keep cool — and that includes keeping our hair out of our faces and protecting it from the sun. Luckily, a slew of celebrities have co-signed one very stylish (and very easy) solution: a bandana tied around the head.
While the look was popular last summer, it was mostly reserved for holidays. This year, celebrities are proving that it’s more than a beach accessory. During her recent travels to Tokyo, Kendall Jenner posted a photo of herself in the back of a taxi wearing a black-and-white printed headscarf to keep the face-framing pieces of her collarbone-grazing bob out of her face.
Then, Kaia Gerber went monochromatic in white, wrapping a headscarf around her hair with the help of her hairstylist Gregory Russell.
Elle Fanning showcased how to extend your hairstyle even after a dip in the water. The actress wore a red paisley scarf tied around her hair, secured by a white clip to keep it up and out of the pool.
But bandanas aren’t just for longer styles. Zendaya recently gave a masterclass in styling a headscarf for shorter cuts during a visit to the independent bookstore Rakestraw Books in California. The Dune actress posed with a navy-and-white dotted kerchief with a singular face-framing piece hanging out, giving justice to the girls with bob and bixie styles who want to partake in the moment.
