ANNISTON, AL — Families and wildlife enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn about reptiles and amphibians during the Herpetology Festival 2026, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Longleaf Event Center in Anniston.
Hosted by the Anniston Museums and Gardens, the festival will feature a variety of educational and interactive activities focused on reptiles and amphibians. Attendees will have the chance to see live animal displays and learn from exhibitors representing organizations and attractions including Jacksonville State University, Camp Lee, T&J Exotics, Noccalula Falls, Shell Puppies, and others.
According to event organizers, activities will include crafts, face painting, presentations, interactive exhibits, and opportunities to view reptiles and amphibians up close. Food vendors will also be on-site throughout the day.
The event is designed for all ages and aims to provide educational experiences about species that are often misunderstood. Organizers say the festival offers visitors a chance to learn more about reptiles and amphibians in an engaging, family-friendly environment.
Admission to the festival is $10 per person for ages 4 and older. Members of Anniston Museums and Gardens will receive discounted admission at $5, while children ages 3 and under may attend free of charge.
Visitors attending the festival can also explore the museum complex, which includes the Anniston Museum of Natural History, the Berman Museum, and the Longleaf Botanical Gardens. Organizers note that museum admission is not included with a Herpetology Festival ticket.
The Longleaf Event Center is located on Museum Drive in Anniston.
