Designer Anabela Chan agrees, adding that colorful jewelry exudes optimism, joy and confidence and can transform even the simplest outfit. “After several years of quieter minimalism, there is a renewed appetite for individuality, escapism and pieces that feel playful yet luxurious,” she told me.

The appeal of color also reflects changing attitudes toward fine jewelry itself: consumers increasingly want every-day jewelry that feels expressive. “We’re seeing strong demand for color, playful layering pieces and bold gold silhouettes that feel full of personality,” says Roxanne First, founder of Roxanne First. She also told me that her customers are gravitating toward jewelry that is joyful, expressive and personal.

More broadly, she notes that people are moving away from overly minimal jewelry and styling that feels too polished or uniform. “Customers are becoming much more confident in mixing metals, color and playing with proportion in their jewelry in a way that feels instinctive and reflective of their individuality,” she said.

Sculptural Florals Lead The Shift Toward Maximalism

Oversized floral jewelry emerged as one of the season’s most dramatic trends. At Chanel Spring/Summer 2026, sculptural blooms and oversized petal motifs blurred the line between jewelry and art. As fashion embraces maximalism, designers are experimenting with exaggerated proportions, dramatic silhouettes, and bold textures.

According to Anabela Chan, this season’s floral jewelry feels particularly expressive, from sweeping golden petal shoulder duster earrings to dramatic floral designs in vibrant, almost psychedelic hues. “The use of florals naturally allows you to play with scale, color, texture and movement in such a creative way,” she says.

Marine-Inspired Jewelry Returns With Greater Symbolism

Marine-inspired jewelry is another defining trend for Spring/Summer 2026, although this season the aesthetic feels more elevated and symbolic than in previous years. Anabela Chan explains that marine motifs continue to resonate because the sea has long served as a rich source of inspiration within jewelry and fashion design. “Stones such as Paraiba tourmalines, turquoise and aquamarines naturally mirror those oceanic motifs, whilst pearls and sculptural forms can feel reminiscent of shells, waves and underwater landscapes,” she said.

This recurring trend allows customers to form deep connections, as the sea evokes memories and special moments for many. Chan describes how nature, in all its forms, will always act as an endless source of inspiration. “As jewellers, we are constantly trying to capture a small moment of that beauty and transform it into something timeless,” she said.

Personalized Stacking Continues To Dominate

This season, layering remains one of the most influential jewelry trends, including stacked necklaces, mixed-metal rings, layered cuffs and multiple earrings. The trend was seen at Balmain and Zimmermann Spring/Summer 2026. This is a particularly versatile trend, as it applies to many styles and finishes, making it unique to the wearer.

“Stacking is one of the most personal things you can do with jewelry,” says Kibele. “There’s no formula, you mix metals, textures, stones, meanings.” She tells me that their customers often stack pieces that mark different moments in their lives. “It becomes a kind of wearable archive. That’s individuality in the truest sense,” she said.

Maddy Sangster has observed a similar shift. “Stacking remains huge, but it’s become more personal and less ‘perfect’ — we’re seeing people mixing metals, textures and proportions to create stacks that feel curated over time rather than bought all at once,” she explains.

In terms of styles, she points out a growing appetite for pieces that feel bold yet wearable. “We’re seeing a lot of interest in sculptural silhouettes and chunky ear stacks,” she concludes.

Despite economic challenges, contemporary fine jewelry continues to perform strongly as consumers priorities craftsmanship, longevity and emotional connection. Roxanne First believes this reflects a broader cultural shift in how jewelry is worn and valued.“Jewelry has always been personal, and tells the story of its wearer, but now more than ever people want it to be a part of their everyday lives,” she says.
