9 Best LED Face Masks to Add to Your Skincare Routine in 2026

by R.Donald

If you’ve been scrolling through your feed and spotted those futuristic, glowing face masks that look straight out of a sci-fi movie, you’re not alone. LED face masks are everywhere right now.

From targeting the appearance of fine lines and dullness to helping your skin look fresher and more radiant, these masks are designed to address multiple concerns in one go. Oh, and the best part? You can sit back, relax and enjoy the treatment from the comfort of your own home. How luxe!

Formerly, these at-home beauty devices were only accessible upon visits to cosmetologists or dermatologists. Unsurprisingly, they’re popular with celebrities too, with famous faces like Bella Hadid, Kourtney Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Alba and Emma Stone all fans.

They also make for a great (and slightly creepy, weird and terrifying) selfie — need we say more?

If you are looking to invest in this latest development in beauty technology, read on for our roundup of the best LED light therapy face masks and devices — including the Keskine LED Light Therapy Face Mask Pro, currently on sale for $695 as well as the 4D Pro Ultimate Led Face Mask, $690 at The Skincare Tools.

There’s also the Qure Q-Rejuvalight Pro LED Mask that has quickly become a staple in our Senior Shopping Writer Philippa’s skincare routine.

NEED TO KNOW

  • Consistency is key: use your mask on clean, dry skin three to five times weekly – just follow what the instructions say and remember everyone’s skin is different.

Dr Naomi LED It Glow Light Therapy Device For Skin, $595 at Dr Naomi Skin

Tried and Tested by Marina Tatas, news.com.au checkout Deputy Editor

The Dr Naomi LED face mask is a staple part of my skincare routine, and I’ve found it supports the appearance of my skin. After consistent use, I feel my skin looks more glowy, and when my skin is playing up, it really seems to help the appearance of things – though of course, everyone’s different.

I love the convenience of an at-home device — yes, the in-clinic LED lights are more powerful than what you get in an at-home mask — but the ease, convenience and benefit of being able to treat your skin whenever you want outweighs that for me. And if you know you’ll use it consistently, I think the Dr Naomi LED mask is definitely worth considering.

I’ve wanted to try one of these masks ever since I had a facial at The Skin Bar and fell asleep during the LED therapy — a treatment that does all the heavy lifting for you. AND it takes just 10 minutes a day. Yes, please!

Since using the Dr Naomi LED It Glow Light Therapy Device for the past six weeks, I’ve noticed the appearance of my skin looks fresher overall.

While you have the option to go about your usual routine while using the LED mask, I like to add a little extra indulgence and use it while lying on my bed, in my comfy PJs, with my favourite podcast on. Having 10 minutes to just stop and enjoy some self-care, while using a device I know is helping my skin, is my favourite part of the day.

My only warning is to tie your hair back before wrapping the velcro strap around your head, as it can tug if your hair is left out.

CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask: Series 2, $679.99 at CurrentBody

Tried and Tested by Harriet Amurao, news.com.au checkout Senior Shopping Writer

If you’re new to LED masks and aren’t sure which one’s worth your time and money, you can’t look past this CurrentBody Skin LED light therapy mask.

It’s built with 236 LEDs (as opposed to the Series 1 with 132 LEDs) and emits three different types of wavelengths: red light (633nm), near-infrared (830nm) and deep near-infrared light (1072nm) to help improve the appearance of the skin.

After using this face mask for a little over three weeks, I found my skin appeared fresher, with a visible glow and overall healthier look. What makes the mask great is that it’s made from a smooth, flexible silicone and has been thoughtfully designed to be comfortable enough to wear while providing coverage for your nose, lips and chin (every inch of your face can reap the benefits of red light therapy with ease). Although it is a tad too big on me (especially around the lip area), the mask comes with adjustable multiway velcro straps to help the mask fit better and more securely.

For those that are concerned about their eyes, don’t worry, it comes with optional eye inserts that I personally like to use, as they make it easier to see and also help the mask fit better around the eyes. Not to mention, this mask is the epitome of convenience as it has a one-touch button operation and a clip-on controller that allows you to move around and do things hands-free.

I like to use it every other night for ten minutes (the recommended amount of time), and it’s honestly one of those little luxuries that I look forward to – it’s the perfect time for me to truly unwind in bed while watching a movie, reading on my kindle, cuddling with my furbabies and more.

Obviously, the $679.99 price tag is clearly on the more expensive side. But it’s worth the money considering you’re paying for a top-of-the-line model that is well-made, easy to use, effective and comfortable, plus you’ll use it often, resulting in a low cost per use.

Q-Rejuvalight Pro LED Mask, $499 at Adore Beauty

Tried and Tested by Philippa Tonkin, news.com.au checkout Senior Shopping Writer

If you’re looking for a mask that you will actually use day in and day out, this one from Qure is the way to go. Each treatment only lasts for three minutes, making it super easy to use even when short on time. I’ve been popping mine on as soon as I get out of the shower every night. Then, by the time I get dressed in my pyjamas and hang my towel back in the bathroom, time is almost up. For me, convenience is one of the most important aspects when it comes to beauty tools because if you don’t use it consistently, it’s really not worth your money.

It is one of the only masks that contains five light colours: Infrared light, deep red, red, amber and blue. On the Qure Skincare App, users can choose between different treatments and can use them on different parts of the face simultaneously.

When I first started using the mask almost two months ago now my skin was in a fairly good place so I used the combined red, deep red, infrared and amber treatment on my whole face. Since then, my skin broke out a little because I started testing some new products, and as a result, I started mixing it up with the combined red and blue treatment. I liked that I could use the red and blue lights at the same time. This way I was able to use this treatment on my forehead and chin, where I was breaking out, and keep the red and amber treatment on the other parts of my face that were ok.

Back to the mask! It uses five concentrated wavelengths of light to help address a multitude of skin concerns deep in the skin that your regular serums can’t normally reach. Other benefits of the mask focus on helping improve the appearance of the skin.

Personally, I feel my skin appeared fresher and more balanced. While I do still have a couple of visible blemishes on my skin, I’ve noticed the overall appearance has really improved.

Yes, this mask isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely not the most expensive on this list and has really worked with my skin and my busy schedule.

BEST LED LIGHT THERAPY MASKS

Omnilux Contour Face, $605 at Omnilux

Tried and Tested by Hannah Paine, former news.com.au checkout Editor

Omnilux was one of the first companies to offer in-salon LED light therapy and is known for being a really popular option. It’s even approved by none other than supermodel Bella Hadid.

I’m not going to lie — this was a huge expense for me when I bought it. But two years on, I can say the Omnilux Contour Face was well worth the spend.

I’ve found the appearance of my skin has shifted. It looks calmer, fresher and has a visible glow. It’s a great alternative to in-salon LED light treatments, which can cost around $60 to $100 a pop. It’s important to note that my mask does have some wear and tear to it after two years of use, including small creases in the mask. However, all the lights still work as normal.

The hardest part is the initial cost and getting into a routine of using it often enough to see results. You won’t see a difference if you only use it occasionally; you need to be consistent. But let me tell you, it’s worth it!

BEST LED LIGHT THERAPY TOOLS

Foreo UFO 2 Smart Mask Treatment, $329 at THE ICONIC

Tried and Tested by Marina Tatas, news.com.au checkout Deputy Editor

It’s genius really — this unique device combines sheet masking with LED light, plus cold and hot sonic wave technology to help your skin.

Setting it up was fairly easy, and you’re able to do all the guided treatments through the FOREO app, which I loved. It was nice to hear a calming voice talk you through all the treatments — it felt like I was at a spa!

Obviously, it’s not going to completely change your skin like an intense laser session or skin needling, but it does offer a super relaxing facial with light therapy, vibrations and more. Your skin is going to feel and appear fresher.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING AN LED MASK

When choosing LED masks to include in our list, we evaluated several factors:

Price: LED masks and devices are a pricier beauty investment, so you may need to splash some of your hard-earned cash on one. However, we’ve made sure to include a variety of price points in our list, starting at $129 and ending at $679.99, to suit a variety of budgets.

Your skin concerns: Different LED lights work on different things, so if you’re keen to address a particular issue, make sure the device you choose has the best LED light for you. A red light therapy mask is designed to help your skin look firmer and more youthful, whereas blue light therapy is often perfect if you’re dealing with breakouts. Models featuring amber light and yellow light target visible signs of ageing. When researching, look for an LED light wavelength that has been properly studied. Some advanced options offer a red light mask combined with near-infrared light therapy or deep infrared light for even more benefits for how your skin looks. It’s also worth noting that some skin types may respond differently to various wavelengths, so what works for one person might not work for another.

Convenience: An at-home beauty device needs to be convenient for you to want to use it consistently. We recommend looking for something easy to use and wireless. Consider models with only one treatment setting if you prefer simplicity, or opt for a flexible mask design that moulds comfortably to your face for maximum contact with the skin. When comparing masks, look for features such as adjustable head straps and a soft, breathable material for optimal comfort during your sessions.

Warranty: If you’re worried about the longevity of these devices, where possible, we’ve included the warranty for each of these devices to give you some peace of mind when shopping.

HOW WE CHOOSE PRODUCTS

With hundreds of models available, it’s impossible to test every model out there. To help you find the best LED mask, we tested a few well-known brands at different price points. In addition, our shopping team read hundreds of customer reviews and looked at test results and ratings from product review sites to help you find the best red light face mask for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE LED FACE MASKS SAFE, AND CAN I USE AN LED FACE MASK EVERY DAY?

Always follow the instructions that come with your mask, and if anything feels off, stop using it. Seek professional advice if you have any concerns of pre-existing medical conditions.  These light-emitting diode devices are designed to be suitable for sensitive skin. However, it’s worth noting that everyone’s different – some people might need a bit longer with their treatments to see results, so always follow the manufacturer’s guidance.

Usually, it’s recommended to use this product three to five times per week, for ten minutes at a time.

HOW SHOULD I PREP MY SKIN BEFORE USING AN LED FACE MASK?

LED devices are best used on clean skin, so make sure to thoroughly wash your face and dry it before using it. This ensures the LED treatment can work effectively and helps protect your skin barrier from any interference. For those with concerns about oil production, using a gentle cleanser beforehand can help optimise your treatment results.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY LED FACE MASK?

Cleaning your LED mask is really easy. You can use a lint-free cloth or a water-based wipe to wipe it down. If you have any stains that won’t come off easily, give them a gentle rub with 70 per cent rubbing alcohol.

WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS FROM YOUR LED FACE MASK?

Regular use may help improve the appearance of dull or uneven skin tone. Individual results vary.

Many users report noticing improvements in their overall skin texture and overall skin health in just a few weeks of consistent use, with some also observing changes in the appearance of facial features, including smoother skin and a reduction in the visibility of smile lines. Those seeking glowy skin often appreciate the comprehensive approach these devices offer.

HOW DO YOU FIND A COMFORTABLE LED MASK?

Look for an LED mask that’s made from flexible silicone – one that can mould to the contours of your face with ease. Additionally, consider eye protection features – some brands call them eye shields or eye inserts  – if you have sensitive eyes or find that bright lights may be uncomfortable during use. Some models also include a neck mask attachment for treating areas beyond the face. Comfort features matter, so prioritise masks with adjustable head straps and a soft mask construction that won’t feel restrictive during your sessions. When comparing this device to other masks on the market, focus on finding a device that balances effectiveness with wearability for the best experience.

General information and not medical advice. This article does not replace advice from a qualified health professional. Always read and follow the manufacturer’s directions for use, warnings and safety information for any device. Individual results vary. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have sensitive skin, or take medicines that may increase light sensitivity, seek advice from a qualified health professional before use. Stop use if irritation occurs.
