An Australian brand sold out of its ‘body sculpting’ kit three times after making it onto Kourtney Kardashian‘s list of gift recommendations.
Beauty brand Biotyspa was endorsed for its Body Sculpt Kit – an innovative product promising shoppers the benefits of a spa-like French lymphatic massage at home.
Customers who have used the $135 kit claim to have noticed a difference in the way their skin looks and feels after just two weeks, and described the body oil scent as ‘divine’.
Following the endorsement one kit sold every two minutes and caused the brand to sell out of stock for two months. It’s the third time the brand has sold out globally.
The reality TV star included it in her ‘Poosh Holiday Gift Guide’ in December last year.
The stimulating massage is designed to be used on the stomach, thighs, and buttock. The kit includes a sculpting kit, hydrating shower gel and firming body oil.
With daily use the brand claims the kit can reduce the appearance of cellulite, enhance circulation and ‘sculpt’ the body.
One mum who had a cesarean birth started using the kit when she was 10-weeks postpartum and called it a ‘must-have’.
‘I hadn’t been moving around much at all and I was feeling quite loose all over. Especially my stomach (obviously). After about two weeks of using this product and seeing results so quickly I was hooked,’ she wrote on the Biotyspa website.
‘My baby is only five-months-old and I’m feeling bikini season ready already!’
Co-founder Deborah Levy was ‘shocked’ to find the megastar included the brand as part of her Holiday Gift Guide and described it as a ‘pinch-me moment’.
Ms Levy said: ‘Since the article and socials went live it has been crazy with a Biotyspa Sculpt Kit sold every two minutes across the day.
‘We have since sold out three times since and which was totally unexpected we never expected this and are so excited that the Kardashian family has found our incredible brand!’
The product has an average star rating of 4.9 out of five on the website, with happy customers leaving raving reviews.
‘I’ve been using this duo for two weeks now and can already begin to see my skin smoother!’ one wrote.
‘Devine. It hurts a bit at the start and I had some bruises at first (from suctioning too hard) but once you get the hang of it, it’s a great shower ritual. The products all smell amazing and I get compliments from the oil. The only downside is it doesn’t come with bigger bottles!’ another said.
‘It is quite a sensation and takes a bit to get used too. Preservation is required. Baby steps or you’ll probably not continue. I’ve purchased a different gel to get used to how it works to save wasting the good stuff.’ a third added.
How to use the kit
To use the kit, use one squeeze of the hydration shower gel and apply to target area in the shower on damp skin until it starts to foam. Add a few drops of the firming body oil if desired for a better glide.
Then grab the sculpting cup and locate the three dots at the top and bottom which indicate where to position your fingers to press.
Place your fingers on the dots and gently press down to create suction. Start with a light to medium pressure, but don’t go too hard at first. If the pressure is too strong, unplug the cup and adjust to a lighter pressure.
The best results occur from consistency, not from intensity. No bruising should occur.
Depending on the target area will determine the massage motion.
After massaging each area for three minutes, rinse then apply a few drops of the firming body oil.
The brand recommends drinking a glass of water following the massage to assist the body with detoxification and enhance results.
For best results, it’s also recommended to use the kit daily in the morning or evening for three weeks at the recommended intensity, then maintain every two days.
