Kendall Jenner has been thinking a lot about K-beauty in the past year. That’s why when Anua, a Korean skin care brand, approached her to be its first global ambassador, she had no problem saying yes. “It was a no-brainer for me,” she says. “I only just recently discovered Anua before partnering with them, but I’ve been hearing a lot and researching about Korean skin care. I love their stuff. It’s cool to be a part of something I enjoy. Korean skin care is amazing.”
She particularly likes the brand’s PDRN Collagen Glow Facial Serum Spray. “I use it throughout the day, even over my makeup,” she says. “It just gives my skin an instant boost of hydration and glow.” Below, Jenner talks PDRN (or salmon sperm DNA), the treatments she might like to get on a trip to Seoul, her workout routine, and her summer travel musts.
PDRN is so buzzy right now. What are your thoughts on the ingredient?
I believe it. I’m fully invested. There’s research behind it that I think is pretty promising. It’s only made my skin look glowy and feel hydrated, so I’m into it.
I would absolutely love to go. I’ve had friends and siblings make their way over there and say that they had the best time. I’d rely on them for the itinerary. It would definitely involve a good amount of skin care, I’m sure.
Are there any treatments that you would want to try while you’re there?
I’d probably be interested in anything rejuvenating and hydrating. I’d be open. I love learning, especially when it comes to skin care. I’d be willing to hear about all of it.
What is your wellness routine?
I love to prioritize my sleep. I like getting up and feeling like I have a productive morning with a good workout. I’m really focused on what I’m eating right now, for overall health, but obviously mental [health] as well. Obviously skin care is involved.
Do you have a workout that you’ve been gravitating toward recently?
I do weight training. I’m in the gym, and I have my trainer, who I adore, and that’s my main thing. Then once or twice a week, I’ll get into a Pilates class or a hot class, but my main thing is my weight training.
They’re fun. We make it a group thing, so we’ll get a bunch of girls together. It’s social for me as well, and it’s a good excuse for us to all hang out. Whereas with my weight classes, it’s just me and my trainer and I’m locked in.
What’s your go-to beauty look for a night out with friends?
I try to keep it super simple. I love a good lip. Sometimes I’ll go for a darker lip at night. I’m not the best at doing my own hair and makeup. I can do one thing really well, otherwise I don’t know how far I can actually take it. I stick to what I know, which is a good lip and skin. I’m not trying to say this is a good thing, but I’m super low-maintenance. I really don’t like feeling like I have too much on, especially if I’m going out.
Summer travel is starting to ramp up. Do you have any travel essentials?
I’m very organized, but I don’t pack light. I like to feel like I have everything on me in case I need anything. I’m a bit of an over-packer. I always travel with a sunscreen that I love. Anua has a good one—also, probably a book and my journal. I think flip-flops just go with everything, so that’s pretty essential for me in the summertime.
Do you have any summer book recommendations?
I just started a book called Hello Beautiful. It’s by Ann Napolitano. I have a good friend who always sends me books. For my birthday, she usually gets me 10 books to get through. I’m super busy, so I try and get through them in a few months, but sometimes it takes me the year, and then she’ll send me another 10 for my next birthday. She actually randomly sent me this one, not on my birthday, so I was like, She must have really liked it. I’m only a couple of chapters in, but so far, so good.
