Manhasset, NY–London Jewelers is increasing its focus on vintage and estate jewelry, with pieces available at its Long Island boutiques in Glen Cove, Manhasset, Southampton and East Hampton.
In a New York Post report, London Jewelers President Candy Udell said demand for vintage and heritage jewelry has grown. The article linked that interest to higher gold prices, global tariffs and consumer interest in previously owned pieces.
The report stated that London Jewelers has carried estate and vintage jewelry before, but is now making a more deliberate effort to source and sell secondhand pieces. The company’s vintage offerings include jewelry from the Victorian and Art Deco periods as well as pieces from the 1980s and 1990s.
Udell said she selects each piece and sources jewelry through a network of dealers, collectors and other contacts around the world.
The article noted that London Jewelers also offers vintage watches. It identified David Webb jewelry and Marina B gold pieces among the categories Udell seeks for the collection.
One example cited in the report was a turquoise David Webb pin with pink rubellite and diamonds. The article also listed Marina B black onyx and yellow gold convertible cuffs and chokers from 1986.
London Jewelers is marking its 100th anniversary this year, the report noted.
