Louis Vuitton Unveils the Mythica High Jewellery Collection in Marrakech

by R.Donald

It felt like a scene from the tales of Scheherazade – palatial Moroccan architecture, a warm breeze and the scent of orange blossom in the air. The Royal Mansour hotel, one of Marrakech’s most intimate havens, was the destination where Louis Vuitton unveiled Mythica, the maison’s latest high jewellery collection. CEO Pietro Beccari described the momentous occasion as “a celebration not only of creation, but time itself: stones have travelled for millions of years to be here, their journey continuing through generations to come”.

Set across seven rooms, the story unfolds through 11 themes with 110 pieces illuminated by exceptional gemstones, some featuring the brand’s unique signature Monogram-cut diamonds. With a growing jewellery business, Louis Vuitton is more than a fashion brand, now with its own high jewellery icons and vocabulary.

The new collection explores motifs such as the centred arrow, a figure symbolising purpose and direction. It stands out in a necklace featuring 21 vivid red rubies totalling 21.86 carats, each stone framed by baguette-cut diamonds, while the individual arrows are outlined with onyx. Requiring 1,200 hours of work, the piece is topped with a central ruby paired with a 1.07-carat LV Monogram Star-cut diamond.
