The Tiffany Timer Is One of 2026’s Biggest Comeback Stories

by R.Donald

While American heritage brand Tiffany & Co. is known chiefly for high-end jewelry, it’s also been a leading purveyor of watches for almost its entire history. The 189-year-old company was already selling American- and Swiss-made pocket watches to its customers in 1847, and in 1866 it introduced its first stopwatch, the Tiffany & Co. Timing Watch. The moniker was shortened to the Tiffany Timer just two years later, to coincide with the opening of the brand’s first watch-assembly workshop in Switzerland; a full manufacture in Geneva followed in 1874.

In 2026, to celebrate 160 years of Tiffany watchmaking and mark the reintroduction of men’s watches to the lineup, the house has released a new Tiffany Timer. This go-around, it’s a chronograph wristwatch with a lacquered dial in Tiffany Blue, a trademarked—and, since 2001, Pantone-recognized—color that has been synonymous with the company since its early days.

It may perform like any chronograph, but this is no ordinary workhorse. Befitting a milestone from a storied jeweler, the Tiffany Timer is made with a 40mm platinum case and hour markers picked out in baguette diamonds. Inside beats the El Primero 400 movement, a descendant of the first automatic chronograph movement launched in 1969. But there’s an added Tiffany touch: a yellow-gold bird motif set into the rotor.

So while this is a fully functional tool watch, the execution is 100 percent Tiffany in demeanor, and it points to future launches that will blend modern functionality with an unabashed and timeless sense of luxury.
