Just in time for spring, Tiffany & Co. is getting ready to unveil the initial portion of Hidden Garden, the latest high jewelry collection for the storied American house—and to mark the occasion with an exclusive star-studded New York City gala on April 16. This is the fourth Blue Book collection under the direction of chief artistic officer Nathalie Verdeille. Honoring the legacy of Jean Schlumberger, the visionary behind some of Tiffany’s most iconic designs, Verdeille has reimagined flora and fauna through the many chapters in the first part of this collection.
For nearly 200 years, the maison has selected the rarest of stones, and this collection is truly a testament to that tradition. Sourced from around the world—from Mexico and Brazil to Ethiopia and Madagascar—each of the stones brings to life the extraordinary creativity behind these pieces. Within the whimsical Paradise Bird chapter, each feathered creature is adorned with the colors of these precious stones. A piece that particularly stood out to me was a one-of-a-kind brooch featuring a bird perching on a free-form fire opal of over 25 carats. Some of the brooches within this chapter are transformable, shifting seamlessly into pendants for added versatility.
The Monarch chapter is a nod to an archival Schlumberger necklace featuring a hidden monarch butterfly. However, it is the foliage that takes center stage, with pavé diamonds meticulously set in the handcrafted leaves and vines that form these jewelry suites. One of the centerpieces of this chapter is a pavé diamond necklace anchored by vibrant blue sapphires that rest atop leaves.
