One person is dead following an auto-pedestrian collision Tuesday night on Johns Island, police said.

The Charleston Police Department is on the scene at Main Road and Maybank Highway due to the collision, officers said.

Road closures near the intersection are expected, police said.

The public is encouraged to find alternate routes.
