Handlers Jordan and Tyrese, from the Swindon-based group, introduced residents to the creatures and answered questions about the animals. People were also given the chance to handle some of the reptiles and insects.
The main attraction was Big Barry, a 12-foot Burmese python who is already familiar to residents at Hunters.
Activities coordinator Ben Sandall said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today.
“The visit from Jordan and his reptiles has been the talk of the home. Everyone was completely fearless and we had so much fun.”
Resident Dorothea said she had been looking forward to the visit.
“I had been looking forward to seeing the snakes, although I had no idea I would get to actually hold one and it was fantastic,” she said.
“Such a fascinating afternoon.”
Hunters Care Centre provides residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as respite and longer-term stays, for up to 85 people.
