Rescue group seeks help for cat stuck in New Britain tree for six days

by R.Donald

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WFSB) – A cat has been stuck in a tree in New Britain for six days, and a CT-based, volunteer-run animal rescue is seeking help to bring the animal down.

A neighbor has been coordinating efforts to help the cat. Tree companies have been contacted, but timing and cost have been getting in the way, according to Helping Outside Animals Rescue.

The non-profit organization said a tree service may be available on Wednesday evening, but they are hoping to find help sooner.

The group is looking for a tree climber or arborist willing to assist, access to a ladder that can reach 30 feet or higher, or anyone with experience rescuing cats from trees, the animal rescue said.

Anyone who can assist is asked to contact Helping Outside Animals Rescue, CLICK HERE for more info.

No further details were released.

Eyewitness News will provide more details as soon as they become available.
