Porsha Williams has broken her silence over the end of her 15-month marriage to Simon Guobadia, who she first began dating in 2021.
Following news of their split, revealed in court papers obtained by People on Thursday, the 42-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta took time to acknowledge the supportive messages and comments she has received from fans.
‘Thank you for your prayers & support [broken heart emoji],’ she captioned a post, shared with her more than 7.6 million Instagram followers.
Within seven hours, she received 109,925 likes and thousands of supportive comments, including one from her Real Housewives of Atlanta costar Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey.
Moore, 53, commented three praying emojis.
The end of Williams and Guobadia’s relationship comes amid allegations of fraud and possible deportation for Simon, a Nigerian businessman who has been living in the U.S. for over 40 years.
The outlet was informed by a source that the decision for the split, currently classified as an ‘ongoing matter,’ is unrelated to recent allegations involving Simon’s past.
Earlier this month, Porsha also announced her return to RHOA, where she met Simon, following a three-year hiatus.
Simon made his debut on RHOA at the conclusion of Season 13, introduced as the husband of Falynn Pina.
However, the pair went their separate ways after the conclusion of filming.
On May 10, 2021, Porsha revealed she was engaged to Simon after one month of dating despite him being the ex of her RHOA co-star.
‘Yes we are crazy in love,’ she captioned a selfie with Guobadia.
‘I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night.’
Simon later confirmed the engagement on his own social media, gushing, ‘I asked her to marry me because we checked ALL of each other’s boxes, and then some.’
Earlier this month, Porsha revealed she will be returning to RHOA with a fun video.
‘Who said that? Porsha Williams coming back to Real Housewives of Atlanta? That’s false… but Porsha Guobadia is in the building. See ya!’ she said in the clip.
It was also revealed by Bravo that she signed an overall scripted talent deal with Bravo’s parent company, NBCUniversal Entertainment.
‘I’m incredibly thankful for the vision and faith NBCUniversal has put in me to be a larger part of their family,’ she said in a statement.
‘I’m looking forward to being back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and showing the world my new world!’
‘Porsha Williams Guobadia is a multi-hyphenate and we are fortunate to collaborate and tap into her creativity and passion through this partnership,’ said Rachel Smith, Executive Vice President of Unscripted Content, Lifestyle and Documentaries, NBCUniversal Entertainment.
‘Our audience has supported and admired Porsha as she so authentically, hilariously and vulnerably shared her life over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her back to the NBCU family,’ she added.
On September 30, 2021, Porsha declared her departure from RHOA after a decade on the show.
Her initial introduction was in Season 5 when she was married to, and subsequently divorced from, NFL player Kordell Stewart.
She was a main cast member for Season 5 and Season 6, and a ‘friend’ of the show for Season 7, before returning to the main cast for Season 8.
She would remain as a part of the main cast until Season 13, though she announced at the end of the season in 2021 that she was leaving the show.
Porsha made a reality TV comeback last year by headlining the spin-off “Porsha Family Matters” in 2021.
Additionally, she featured in Season 3 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girl Trip as a last-minute replacement for Tinsley Mortimer
Porsha shares four-year-old daughter Pilar with ex Dennis McKinley while Guobadia is father to Quentin, Nicole, Christian, Benjamin and Ximena from former marriages.
