40m Westport motor yacht Serengeti sold at auction

by R.Donald

The 39.6-metre Westport motor yacht Serengeti has been sold at auction, with Northrop & Johnson broker Kevin Merrigan facilitating the transaction.

She was built in the USA as a Westport 130 model and delivered in 2002 with a refit in 2014. Her exterior design was penned by Gregory C. Marshall, with naval architecture developed by William Garden, while her interior design is by Sheryl Guyan and Pacific Custom Interiors.

Serengeti was last asking $7,950,000

Five cabins on board accommodate up to 12 guests. Serengeti’s master stateroom is located on the main deck, while four more cabins, two kings and two twins, are found on the lower deck via a spacious lobby. Meanwhile, further quarters accommodate a crew of seven.

Large windows are found on the main deck and bridge deck, providing an abundance of natural light and excellent views out. The yacht’s main saloon and skylounge both feature comfortable seating areas for relaxing or entertaining, while a formal dining room for up to 10 guests is centrally positioned at the main deck level.

On deck, there is a walk-around main deck, a Jacuzzi and a flybridge with a bar and sunbathing areas. The tried-and-tested layout is suitable for private or charter use.

Serengeti has a 3,000 nautical mile range at 12 knots, a 24-knot cruising speed and a top speed of 28 knots under twin MTU diesels. Zero-speed stabilisers keep guests comfortable at anchor.

Serengeti was last asking $7,950,000.
