Turkish shipyard Alia Yachts has announced the launch of its 45-metre full-custom motor yacht, Genie Blu.
The new build entered the water at the yard’s Antalya facilities, unveiling her long and minimalist all-white profile, with drop-down side wings and floor-to-ceiling glass contributing to her “remarkably uncluttered aesthetic”. Alia’s in-house design team worked alongside Italian studio Luca Dini Design & Architecture to bring the custom build to life, opting for clean architectural lines and a low, contemporary profile.
Delivery to her owner, Italian entrepreneur Gianluca Vacchi, is expected ahead of the summer season.
Her interiors, also from Luca Dini, have yet to be revealed but are said to showcase “openness, light and a direct relationship with the marine environment”, decorated in a light, neutral palette. The main saloon is just one example, with floor-to-ceiling windows and an open-plan layout designed to place the sea at the heart of the experience on board.
“The project is based on subtraction rather than addition,” explained Luca Dini. “We removed barriers, reduced unnecessary volume and opened the yacht wherever possible. The objective was not to maximise gross tonnage, but to maximise the owner’s experience of the sea.”
The same design philosophy continues on deck, where raised seating in the cockpit flows via a “broad cascade of steps” to the generous aft swim platform. Forward, a large lounge area and open foredeck offers additional space for guests to relax, while up top, a discreet sunpad area crowns Genie Blu’s structure.
President of Alia Yachts Gökhan Çelik commented on the new build: “Genie Blu turns traditional ideas of yacht design on their head. Rather than maximising interior volume for its own sake, this project is about purity, proportion and the owner’s experience of the sea.”
He continued: “Fully custom and refreshingly unconventional, Genie Blu is exactly the kind of yacht we love to build at Alia. Working closely with the owner throughout this journey has been a privilege, and seeing her enter the water is a very proud moment for everyone involved.”
Alia Yachts is long-recognised for its custom new builds. At the end of last year, the builder celebrated the launch of the 50-metre Atlantide, characterised by an unusual “aircraft-carrier” bow, and more recently, the 60-metre Serenity II, which, according to the shipyard, stands as “one of [its] most significant yachts ever built”.
