Bering Yachts just went bigger than ever before.

The Turkish yard unveiled a new flagship at the Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) over the weekend. Christened simply the B165, the 162-footer is set to become the largest explorer yacht in the Bering fleet.

Founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Alexey Mikhaylov, Bering is known for producing rugged, full-displacement steel explorers capable of covering serious distances. The yard has delivered several “pocket explorers” over the past two decades but is now diving into larger vessels.

Penned by Valentin Design, the B165 has a good 17 feet on its predecessor. (The current flagship, the B145, measures 145 feet.) The newcomer also showcases an elongated aft deck that distinguishes it from other fleet members.

“The aim was to create a new kind of explorer,” studio founder Valentin Weigand said in a statement. “A true crossover, where usability and practicability combine with an elegant, experience-driven design.”

With a beam of just under 30 feet, the yacht offers plenty of space on board yet still has an interior volume of less than 500 GT (499 GT, to be exact). Designed by Bering’s in-house team, the generous living quarters can comfortably accommodate 12 seafarers or more. The main deck features a spacious lounge, dining room, two VIP cabins, and a cinema room that can be turned into an additional guest cabin if required, while the lower deck is equipped with three guest suites, the galley, the crew mess, and four crew cabins.

Heading upstairs, the owner’s deck sports an owner’s suite that opens to a private lounge and spa. The deck is also home to a skylounge and alfresco dining area aft. To top it off, literally, the bridge deck is dedicated to a plush lounge with a bar, TV, and firepit.

Back down below, the aft deck is adorned with a sizable swimming pool and sunbeds. It is also equipped with fold-out bulwarks that create extra space as needed and a crane that can be used to launch the two tenders from the deck. At the stern, the swim platform features two inviting sun pads and stairs that lead to the water.

In terms of power, the B165 will pack two Caterpillar C32 engines that will allow it to reach a maximum speed of 15 knots and cover some 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Bering is currently working on five smaller explorer yachts, but fingers crossed we see a B165 hit the high seas soon.
