Construction milestone on tenth 37m Moonen 122 Martinique yacht YN208

Dutch shipyard Moonen Yachts has announced a construction milestone on the tenth unit from its 122 Martinique motor yacht series. The steel hull of the 37.4-metre new build, known as YN208, has been turned at Talsma Shipyards, Moonen’s hull construction partner in the north of the Netherlands.

The hull will now enter the next phase of construction, with delivery scheduled for June 2027. YN208 is currently listed for sale with Richard Gray and Matthew Stone of IYC, both of whom serve as Moonen Yachts’ global representatives.

The yacht commenced her build in January upside down – a move which the yard says is a more efficient construction method

“The hull turning is always a proud and highly visible moment in the life of a yacht,” said managing director of Moonen Yachts, Nicky van Zon. “For prospective owners, YN208 offers the ideal balance between reduced delivery time and meaningful customisation possibilities, all within one of Moonen’s most successful series.”

Long-standing collaborator Rene van de Velden is behind the exterior lines of the 122 Martinique line, which began in 2018 with the World Superyacht Award-winning Brigadoon, and features long-range cruising capability, a steel displacement hull and an aluminium superstructure.

Her 345GT interiors are courtesy of Vripack and are described as “refined and owner-focused”, with emphasis on indoor-outdoor flow – another signature hallmark of the Martinique models. Renderings showcase bright and airy spaces with a warm, refined and somewhat metallic colour palette.

“We’ve created an interior that honours life at sea with American pine woods, Emperador marbles and the finest of Italian leather,” co-creative director at Vripack, Marnix Hoekstra, previously explained. “It’s designed to ignite the imagination and to show what is possible when materials, colour schemes and flow of space is used to reflect clients’ specific needs and aspirations for their life on the water.”

YN208 is listed for sale asking €27,000,000

Accommodation on board comprises 12 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck with 180-degree views, two VIP guest cabins, and two additional cabins on the lower deck. Crew quarters are available for seven.

A 65-square-metre sundeck offers lounging and dining, with a sheltered bar and the option of a custom whirlpool. Meanwhile, closer to the water, there is a generously extended 20-square-metre swim platform with hydraulic Z-lift swim stairs. A hull-side tender garage also accommodates a 6-metre tender, and the foredeck can carry up to two Jet Skis.

The 122 Martinique model offers flexible technical capabilities, including worldwide shore power connectivity and dual US and European power outlets. Powered by two Caterpillar C32 engines, the yacht will offer a 4,000 nautical mile range at 10 knots and can top out at 17 knots.

Once delivered, YN208 will join an existing fleet of 122 Martinique models. Lollipop is the latest launch and eighth hull in the series, scheduled for delivery this summer. BOATPro amounts three 122 Martinique yachts currently under construction.
