Some of the biggest superyachts in the world are now sailing in Mallorcan waters. The latest arrival is the U.S. owned, Fountainhead, also one of the largest yachts in the world. As of this afternoon was cruising along the island´s west coast,

Fountainhead is a motor yacht built in 2011 by Feadship for American billionaire Eddie Lampert. With an overall length of 87.78 m (288.0 ft) and a beam of 13.90 m (45.6 ft).The yacht is named after the novel The Fountainhead, written by Ayn Rand.

Edward Scott Lampert is an American billionaire businessman. He is the former chief executive and chairman of Sears Holdings, the founder of Transformco, and the founder, chairman, and chief executive of ESL Investments. Until May 2007, he was a director of AutoNation. He was a director of AutoZone from 1999 to 2006. As of December 2025, his net worth was estimated at US$2.2 billion.

Anchored off the Mallorca coast in the same area as the Fountainhead is the Rising Sun, dubbed the superyacht to the stars. he Rising Sun is a 138 metre yacht. She is currently owned by American businessman David Geffen. Some of the guests on Geffen’s yacht have included Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Oprah Winfrey.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Geffen drew backlash for posting on Instagram that he and his 45-member crew were self-isolating in the Grenadines on Rising Sun.

Also in port in Palma is another of the world´s biggest superyachts, Infinity. She can accommodate up to 16 guests across 8 luxury suites.
