It’s summer, and you know what that means: It’s time for celebrities to start spending a lot of time on the European seas. That’s right, it’s yacht season, and no one is doing it better than the Beckhams. After several weeks spent sweltering in a full suit while watching the World Cup, David Beckham has finally been able to cool down alongside his family on a yacht off the coast of Ibiza.
On Wednesday, David was photographed lounging on the yacht’s deck with his wife, Victoria, while enjoying a book. What kind of books does David Beckham read? I am overjoyed to reveal that he appears to have brought One True Loves, by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Per the Simon & Schuster website, the book is a “breathtaking new love story about a woman unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiancé who has finally brought her back to life.” Juicy! It honestly sounds perfect for some fun yacht reading.
The same day, the Beckhams’ second-oldest son, Romeo, hopped in the ocean in his underwear. (Either that or he’s fond of a very sheer swimsuit.) “Page Six” published photos of Romeo both on the yacht and on a Jet Ski with his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. In some of the yacht photos, Romeo’s white briefs were sheer enough that the outlet had to pixelate the photos for modesty. I admire Romeo’s perseverance — just because you left your trunks at home doesn’t mean you can’t get on a Jet Ski. That’s an ancient Floridian proverb, I believe.
The youngest Beckham, Harper, was also aboard the yacht and took a spin on a Jet Ski. Not present were Cruz and, of course, Brooklyn, whose estranged relationship with his family has dominated the tabloids this year. What’s he up to? As usual, he’s spending time with his wife, Nicola. They recently shared an image of the two of them using a treadmill at the same time, captioned, “Yup we do everything together.” So it sounds like they’re pretty busy.
That does mean that there are probably a few extra rooms on the yacht, maybe for someone who could chat with David about who they should cast in the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo movie? I’m around and I have ideas, is all I’m saying.
