Carfluent targets AI search gap with new tool

by R.Donald

Carfluent has launched a new AI-powered platform aimed at improving dealership visibility in generative search environments, as consumer behaviour shifts toward conversational tools such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini.

The new product, called Autograph, is designed to help dealers surface their inventory and content in AI-generated responses by creating a separate “knowledge layer” that sits between dealership websites and AI search engines.

According to Carfluent, 86 per cent of dealer websites are currently invisible to AI search bots, limiting their ability to appear in conversational search results. The company says Autograph addresses this gap by translating dealership data into a format that AI systems can more easily crawl, index and recommend.

“With 86% of dealer websites currently invisible to AI, we realized the automotive industry was missing out on a massive change in consumer search behavior,” said Chance Mayfield, CEO of Carfluent.

“Autograph acts as an intermediary knowledge layer, taking a dealership’s existing data and translating it into a format that AI bots like Gemini and Chat GPT can easily read, retrieve, and recommend to car buyers. We are bridging the gap between legacy dealer websites and the future of search.”

The platform uses web scraping, sitemap monitoring and structured data to repurpose existing dealership content for AI-driven discovery.

Carfluent says Autograph can deliver real-time inventory information, localized content such as buying guides and comparisons, and direct links back to vehicle detail pages to support lead generation.

The launch follows the company’s recent expansion into French-language translations, in addition to its existing Spanish capabilities.
