Donna Chant, owner of Curios on School Green Road, opened the shop in mid-March.
The shop sells an eclectic mix of gifts, jewellery and clothing and has proved to be of interest to the locals in West Wight.
Donna said: “A lot of locals have been coming in, it’s been really good – I was already sharing a shop nearby and I’ve been doing events all over the Island.
“I have been about, it’s just taking that risk and opening.”
Donna sells crystals and incense sticks as well as handmade jewellery and different accessories – curating her stock from local talent.
The shop caters to different generations of customers and has a kids area which ‘goes mental when school kicks out’.
She said ponchos have proved to be popular.
She is looking forward to welcoming more customers in Freshwater, for locals to discover something ‘a little different’.
