OpenClaw launches mobile app, lets users run AI agents from smartphones | Ukraine news

A new mobile release brings OpenClaw agents to Android and iOS. Early adopters praise convenience but warn results vary.

OpenClaw, a free open-source app, has finally landed on Android and iOS. The AI agent drew attention from the network earlier this year, and is now available for mobile devices. The OpenClaw team announced the release on X on Tuesday.

On both platforms you can connect your smartphone to the OpenClaw Gateway – a kind of router that links user requests to AI agents and the tools those agents use. The main idea is that you can now run your own OpenClaw agents straight from your pocket, and with proper programming they can help carry out a variety of tasks.

Users apply the app for a range of needs – from programming to meal planning, though some report outcomes that aren’t always desirable.

OpenClaw went viral earlier this year after the launch of MoltBook – a social platform that was allegedly filled with agents. In February, OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger announced joining OpenAI. MoltBook was initially seen as a theatrical production featuring people impersonating agents, and served as a marketing campaign for OpenClaw.

Overall the trend indicates the growing role of agents in the AI landscape and their ubiquitous appearance, including on mobile devices. OpenClaw continues to develop its ecosystem and is preparing for new use cases.
