In the past few years, celebrity engagements ushered in a new era of bridal jewelry inspiration. From chunky gold bands and antique diamond cuts to unexpected settings with unmistakable personality, recent engagement rings have sparked countless conversations — and influenced the market in the process. But rather than creating one defining trend, today’s most talked-about engagement rings reflect something far more personal: individuality.
“The shift has been toward engagement rings with a stronger sense of self — of the wearer,” Catbird chief creative officer Leigh Batnick Plessner told WWD. “I think that’s part of why rings like Zendaya’s and Dua Lipa’s have resonated so deeply. They’re both beautiful, but more importantly, they feel connected to who is wearing them.”
That evolution is reshaping the engagement ring landscape. While celebrities continue to influence bridal jewelry, the biggest takeaway isn’t one specific cut or setting — it’s the move toward more personal, individual expression.
From Zendaya’s east-west diamond to Selena Gomez’s marquise stone and Taylor Swift’s antique-inspired Old Mine cut, the celebrity engagement rings making the biggest impact all share one thing in common: they feel deeply personal. Ahead, the engagement rings defining today’s bridal trends — and the styles set to inspire the next generation of engagements.
Dua Lipa

Newlywed Dua Lipa has become the poster child for the cool-girl bride ever since the debut of her chunky gold engagement ring from Callum Turner. Eschewing tradition, Lipa’s chunky sculptural cigar-band design sparked a trend almost instantly. “Dua’s bold gold band challenged expectations of what an engagement ring can look like,” Catbird chief creative officer Leigh Batnick Plessner said. Eliette founder Jenny Chung Seeger agrees, calling it “one of the biggest influences on engagement ring trends recently.”
Seeger points to the ring’s thick, gold-forward silhouette as a catalyst for the growing popularity of heavier bands, integrated settings, and rings that feel sculptural enough to double as everyday fine jewelry. “It’s luxurious without feeling overly precious,” Seeger said. “It has that cool-girl confidence of being an engagement ring, but not in the most traditional, expected way.”
Zendaya

If Dua Lipa’s ring made chunky gold bands the engagement ring of the moment, Zendaya’s helped propel east-west settings into the mainstream. Designed by London-based jeweler Jessica McCormack, the actress’s bezel-set, elongated cushion-cut diamond is set horizontally across the finger — a subtle twist on a classic silhouette that quickly became one of the year’s most influential engagement ring designs.
“Three trends have moved the market, and the real story is that the appetite has been centered around the length of the diamond. Zendaya’s ring is the most influential: an elongated cushion set east-west, low to the finger, in yellow gold,” Jean Dousset, founder and designer of Jean Dousset, said. “It took a setting that used to be a connoisseur’s choice and made it aspirational overnight.”
Plessner also points to the ring’s enduring influence. “Settings are evolving in a similar way. East-west orientations, like the one that drew so much attention with Zendaya’s ring, continue to resonate because they offer a fresh perspective while still feeling timeless.”
Selena Gomez

The seemingly overnight return of the marquise diamond can largely be traced back to Selena Gomez’s engagement ring from Benny Blanco. Featuring a marquise-cut center stone on a delicate pavé band, the design revived two classic details at once. While chunky gold bands are dominating in a category of their own, Gomez’s ring has helped usher pavé settings back into the spotlight, signaling a renewed appetite for more traditional diamond-forward designs.
“We’ve seen strong interest in marquise-cut diamonds, which gained significant visibility following Selena Gomez’s engagement ring,” Anubh Shah, cofounder of With Clarity, told WWD. “The elongated shape offers a flattering, finger-lengthening effect while feeling both vintage and modern.”
Dousset credits the ring with single-handedly reviving the once-overlooked shape. “Selena Gomez’s marquise ring revived a shape that had been sitting under 5 percent of the market,” he said.
Taylor Swift

While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding may remain a mystery, the impact of the singer’s engagement ring is not. Since Swift debuted her elongated cushion-shaped Old Mine cut diamond, antique-inspired engagement rings have surged in popularity, with heirloom details and vintage cuts quickly becoming some of the most coveted bridal styles.
“We’re seeing strong demand for vintage-inspired designs, including milgrain detailing, antique-style settings, and elongated cushion-cut diamonds. Interest in these timeless, heirloom-inspired looks has been fueled in part by Taylor Swift’s engagement ring,” Shah told WWD.
Eliette founder Chung Seeger has also seen brides gravitate toward antique-inspired silhouettes. “Elongated shapes are definitely leading the trend right now, especially elongated cushions, marquise cuts, and ovals,” she said. “Taylor Swift’s ring brought tons of attention to the romance of antique-inspired cuts, and we’ve seen a real wave of brides gravitating toward that same elongated, vintage-leaning look.”
Devon Lee Carlson

Though Devon Lee Carlson only debuted her engagement ring on June 17, the model’s sparkler is already shaping up to represent another bridal trend on the rise: three-stone engagement rings. After years of solitaire diamonds dominating the category, multistone settings and cluster rings are steadily making a comeback. Carlson’s ring also builds on the antique-inspired movement popularized by Swift, featuring a genuine antique diamond in a romantic three-stone setting.
“We’re seeing increased interest in three-stone settings, particularly a large oval-center diamond flanked by oval side stones,” Shah told WWD.
Though it’s still too early to measure the ring’s full impact, Carlson’s engagement ring offers a glimpse at where bridal jewelry may be headed. As antique diamonds continue to gain momentum, three-stone settings are emerging as a major engagement ring trend.
